Vendor Application - LOUISVILLE BOOK FESTIVAL

If you are a bookseller, publisher/press or a maker with reading and book-related products, we invite you to rent a space at the Louisville Book Festival October 18 and 19, 2024.

RENTAL SPACE TO INCLUDE:

An 8X5 rented space
One (1) 8-foot table
Two (2) chairs
Link to your website on the Louisville Book Festival site

RENTAL RATE INFO:

Special rates for our first year inviting vendors.
Rental rate: $100
For an additional $75, an additional 8-foot table will be provided. (An 8X8 rented space. The KICC does not allow set up of personal tables.)
If you need electricity, it is an additional $50 charge.
Rental rate is for the entire weekend, regardless of whether vendor chooses one or both dates.

Friday, October 18: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Saturday, October 19: 10:00 am to 5:00pm

This is our first year hosting craft and maker vendors at the Louisville Book Festival which is held at the KICC (Kentucky International Convention Center). We are working each year to entice even more book lovers to visit from all over the country. We are a young festival and will be celebrating our five-year anniversary this year. In the past, the attendance on Friday has leaned heavier on children and school groups. We cannot guarantee attendance or sales, but we have had many authors who completely sell out of books over this weekend. Our audience in 2023 exceeded 3,000 people and we project that this number will double in 2024 based on new partnerships, the five-year celebration, and early marketing estimates. We invite vendors to grow with us.

Makers' sellable items must be book/reading/literacy-related in some way (i.e. stickers, bookmarks, bags, t-shirts, journals, etc.

The space assigned to the maker is for its own exclusive use and may be used only for the display and sale of its goods and services. No food items of any kind may be sold at the Louisville Book Festival

The vendor assumes the risk of loss and all liability for any damages or expenses arising from vendor’s occupancy and use of the exhibition premises, or any part thereof for any reason. The vendor shall at all times protect, indemnify, save, and keep harmless LBF from any damage, liability or expense arising from or out of any loss or injury to any property or person, including the vendor, its agents, sponsors, employees, and business invitees, which arise from or out of or by reason of the vendor’s occupancy and use of the exhibition premises or any part thereof. The vendor is encouraged to insure itself against property loss or damage and against liability for personal injury at its own expense. The Louisville Book Festival is not responsible for items left behind at the Festival. All items left behind will be disposed of at 6:30 pm Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Vendors are responsible for providing tablecloths, signage and all other materials needed for an attractive booth space, and must operate only within their assigned space. Free wifi is available, but may be unreliable

Applications received after September 1, 2024 will only be considered if there is available space. Applicants will receive a confirmation email upon receipt of application. Notification will be sent regarding acceptance status by September 1 and will be dependent on eligibility, appeal of activities, and space available.

Carmichael's Bookstore is the official Louisville Book Festival seller. All books by presenting authors will be sold exclusively by Carmichael's. Other booksellers may sell any other titles.

By executing this application, I acknowledge

Receipt of and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth in this application and in the Louisville Book Festival Vendor Booth Contract Terms and Conditions on behalf of myself and all parties working in my booth. Upon receipt of your application, the review committee will determine acceptance of your application and upon approval will process your payment and will send a receipt of payment. The Louisville Book Festival reserves the right to cancel your participation in the festival and provide a refund. The Louisville Book Festival does not accept any responsibility for any expenses incurred in the planning of your participation in the festival if your participation is canceled or rejected.

PAYMENT WILL BE COLLECTED AFTER APPLICATION HAS BEEN REVIEWED AND ACCEPTED. Vendor will be notified to make payment at that time
