Louisville Book Festival Youth Council

The Louisville Book Festival is a non-profit organization founded in 2018 to celebrate and promote the love and the benefits of reading, writing, and literacy. We believe that literacy is a fundamental human right and that there is power and purpose in bringing books to life every day of the year. We celebrate books and use them to highlight and grow the resilient culture of our vibrant city, as well as to encourage and elevate our creative thinking as a community.

Please use the application below to apply for our new Youth Council! We are seeking diverse representation from all over Louisville to be a part of this team. The main goals of the council will be to have a voice about children’s programming at the Louisville Book Festival, inspire children across the city and the world to discover a new love of reading, and participate in opportunities to volunteer for programs that will increase awareness of literacy issues. Our mission is to get people engaged and talking about books and reading in Kentucky, starting with kids!

We currently meet every other week on Sundays at 7 pm by Zoom.

WE BRING BOOKS TO LIFE!

Have you ever been to a book festival?
If selected to participate, you will have to attend the Louisville Book Festival in person on Friday, October 28th and/ or Saturday, October 29th, 2022. Will this be a problem? (You will be able to apply for a field trip through your school to avoid an absence if your school is not attending the LBF.)
